Paxton Trust Announces Potential Partnership with Nova Day To Open Campus Back to Students

Leesburg, VA – August 26, 2025 – The Margaret Paxton Memorial for Convalescent Children Trust today announced it has signed a short-term Letter of Intent (LOI) with Nova Day, an established educational organization that provides individualized education and support for children with learning differences, including autism, ADHD, and related needs.

Nova Day recently contacted the Paxton Trust to inquire about how to join the Mosaic Campus and expressed its interest in coming to an agreement with The Arc of Loudoun to reopen the campus to students as soon as possible. As part of their proposal, Nova Day has expressed interest in hiring all of the Arc’s displaced teachers, ensuring both continuity of care and stability for the children and families who have been affected.

“The Trustees were honored to tour Nova Day’s impressive facility in Chantilly and host Nova Day’s leadership for a tour of the Paxton Campus. During our tour we discussed how Nova Day could contribute to the vision of the Mosaic Campus,” said Mary Louise Leipheimer, Trustee of the Paxton Trust. “We were impressed by the strength of their program, their dedication to families, and their ability to provide stability for students. Nova Day offers the best opportunity for Aurora School students to return to a campus they know, surrounded by teachers they cherish, and we are committed to supporting their efforts to welcome these children back.”

Under the terms of the LOI, Nova Day would be able to lease a portion of the Paxton Campus if they reach an agreement with the Arc.

“An agreement between the Arc and Nova Day would be a vital step in preserving continuity of care and education for the children who depend on these critical services,” said Leipheimer.

Nova Day is one of several organizations that have reached out to the Trust about the possibility of joining the Mosaic Campus. The Mosaic Campus is envisioned as a collaborative, multi-service community where diverse organizations work side by side to provide world-class care, education, and support for children of all abilities. By partnering with innovative and mission-driven organizations like Nova Day, the Trust is laying the foundation for a stronger future that expands services, modernizes facilities, and ensures the Paxton Campus continues to serve children for generations to come.
